PARUL THACKER
About the Artist
Parul Thacker (born 1973 in Mumbai) studied Textile Design at Sophia Polytechnic College of Art and Design in Mumbai (B.A.), focusing on various materials and techniques of weaving, dyeing and printing. At the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, Thacker completed her studies with a course in surface ornamentation, which appear as a recurring motif in her art. The artist has won several awards, including a national award in weaving, and participated in numerous symposia and artist-in-residence programs. Parul Thacker lives and works in Mumbai.
